Entering Your Seventh House
Part 7 of a 12 Part Series

by Victoria Schneider

House  SEVEN!  The HOUSE of RELATIONSHIPS!  This is the area of life where you no longer are thinking only of yourself, but are aware of others implying a sense of cooperation and sharing. The relationship needs to serve a purpose and from that, each partner, whether it be a personal relationship or a business relationship, will find his or her OWN purpose.

Whatever sign is on the cusp or border of the seventh house will tell you HOW you will go about BEING in relationship to others.  The life with purpose affects the first, fourth, seventh and tenth houses.

  • First house is all about you personally
  • Fourth house is your emotional ego and emotional SELF-reliance
  • Seventh house is about your relationship with others
  • Tenth house is how you take you and your relationships out into the world.

Find out more about how YOU relate to YOUR relationships!

Everything’s connected in astrology just like in our bodies…..each cell contributes to the good of the WHOLE! In evolutionary astrology the mantra for the seventh house is:  “I balance a diversity of relationships with my own initiative.”

  • In the first house, you recognize yourself and with instinctual energy you go through your life. You realize the “I”-ness of yourself.
  • In the fourth house you FEEL about yourself.  Your feeling body is operative. You are a particular person with particular feelings. You believe in particular things and are conscious of those feelings. These feelings lead to your success or failure to you.  You learn and your suffer on the path…all in an attempt to grow.
  • In the seventh house, you take how you ARE and how you FEEL into your relationships.  Your relationships then reflect back to you positivity or negativity and everything in between.  If a relationship is difficult, you are thrown back upon yourself to re-evaluate why you are even in that relationship.  Your relationships indicate your willingness to evolve or remain static.  This is how relationships serve a purpose.  Relationships that that have a balanced “give and take” serve a wonderful purpose and promote growth to all concerned.
  • Balanced relationships bring one out into the world in a healthy way.

Essentially, relationships mean participation in a larger whole.  If a person doesn’t feel worthy of belonging to a larger whole or feels “less than” others within the larger whole, then she must go back to her first house and her fourth house and discern WHY she FEELS so “left out.”

The sign on the cusp of your seventh house cusp will tell you how you go about life and your relationships.  Are you an initiator of relationship (Aries) or do you wait for others to approach you by shying away (Cancer).  Are your relationships altruistic and cosmic oriented?  Do you see the good in everyone no matter what…(Pisces) or do you enter your relationship with a lot of editorial criticism and analyzing?  (Virgo)

No sign is “cut and dried” as the above statements would suggest, however the sign on the cusps of each house are telling.  Relationships serve a purpose.  Take a look at yours and try to discern why you are in them.  It’s ALL part of “getting to know YOU!”
