I LOVE this house, (area of life)! It's all about forming the SELF as an individuated consciousness. Every HOUSE is ruled or governed by a particular planet. Each HOUSE and the PLANET that rules or governs that house have very similar characteristics.
The SUN rules or governs the FIFTH HOUSE! So when we speak of the characteristics of the SUN, we're speaking of similar characteristics in the FIFTH HOUSE.
Everything in astrology is like a big web....Everything is CONNECTED.
You see, the FIFTH HOUSE is ruled by the SIGN LEO which is ruled by the planet the SUN. (The Sun's not REALLY a planet, it's a LUMINARY --- a very, very, very BIG STAR!--but in astrology, for simplicity sake, we call it a planet!)
Now LEO gets a bad rap a lot of time...because, like the Lion's Pride, Leo's can come across as if life is "all about them." But that's not ALL Leos, ALL of the time! We have to remember that....so the fifth house can get the same "bad rap!" However, remember this, YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE! "Know Thyself!" Plato said it! If you don't really KNOW who you are, it's time to start finding out!
Whatever is in YOUR FIFTH HOUSE, will tell you HOW you go about "individuating" yourself from others. We are all so unique and we should own that. That's not a bad thing. Sometimes we get the message that we should be like "everyone else!" Well, look around! Who IS IT that you would like to be?
Personally, I feel that we are all BLESSEDLY UNIQUE and within that uniqueness come the gifts that we offer one another, IF we but pursue that uniqueness. The minute we succumb to being "who we are NOT!", THAT'S when we get ourselves into trouble!
SO....in YOUR fifth house, what's there? How is life calling YOU to BE who it is you incarnated to BE?
First of all, this house calls you to grow to be the best INDIVIDUAL into which you can grow? Who is that for YOU? I would think that this question calls for a definition of your idea of “best individual." Your definition of “best individual that YOU can be,” says a lot about you. The rest of this article will assume that you desire to be as benevolent as you can. Having said that, I am not so naïve as to think that everyone WANTS to be benevolent! However, THAT being said, if one wants, what one wants, even if it is NOT benevolent, that, my dear reader, is telling. Keep that in mind.
This fifth house rules:
- Personal Interests
- Creative Self-Expression
- On a physical level, it is the children that you create or the creations that come forth from you.
- On a mental level, it is the “children” of your mind, that which you care for and attend to.
- This is an area of life, a HOUSE where you must overcome feelings of inadequacy. If you feel inadequate, your creations will suffer.
- This is where you look to find creative happiness and personal fulfillment.
- What gives you pleasure? Whether it is parties, games, sports, music, art, or love affairs, being with your family, writing, or creating ANYTHING, pleasure is your birthright.
- What do you desire to leave of YOURSELF to society? When it’s all done for you, what do you want “them” to say about you?
- Sometimes, even gambling can come under the fifth house. Any new enterprise, about which you take a risk, comes under this house. Will the risk you take affect just you or will the risk you take affect others?
In reading the above points or answering any of the above questions, the question that one can ask is this: “What is the DIVINE WILL for me in this situation?” Then sit back and wait for the answer. When in your pursuit for INDIVIDUATION you ask for Divine intervention, you may get answers that you didn’t expect. You may get answers with which your family, friends, spouse/partner, co-workers would not agree. But this is about YOU! Fifth House! And above all, the fifth house is about seeking to be the BEST YOU and the most FULFILLED YOU, that your soul incarnated to be.
