When we think of "home", it would be nice if we felt comfortable, safe, secure -- emotionally secure!
Ultimately, that's what the fourth house is all about - emotional security and especially EMOTIONAL SELF-RELIANCE!
That's a biggie! Emotional Self-Reliance. If you were to look at a circle divided into 12 pieces of pie...then look at exactly 6 PM, There is the "neighborhood" of your fourth house. In that little piece of pie (area of life) is the foundational information to let you know how and why your emotions and feelings operate the way they do and to show you how you’ll flesh out your own sense of self-reliance.
That's very important information. Because the fourth house deals with our sense of self-reliance we have to look and see if we actually ARE self-reliant or if we expect everyone around us to shore us up! There are factors so enormously beyond the scope of this small newsletter that come into play when I'm interpreting a chart analysis for my clients. However, let's work with the very basics. For everyone, no matter who you are, no matter what planets are placed in your fourth house, has a need to feel safe, secure, and also has the responsibility to become a grown-up (notice I didn't say adult - anyone over 21 is an adult. The word "adult" does not equal "grown-up!)
Again, everyone's fourth house is different. Everyone's CHART is different. No two "fourth houses" will be fleshed out the same way. What IS the same is that they represent one's sense of self-reliance. Let's explore how that self-reliance or lack
of it can play out in life.
Self-reliance means that we need to take responsibility for our emotional self. The Moon RULES the fourth house. The Moon represents our self-image and our EMOTIONAL EGO. The MOON (read about the NEW MOON in Sagittarius this month) goes into a new sign of the zodiac every two and a half days which means that every two and a half days our emotions are adjusting to a different way of being depending on the sign the Moon is in. That’s a lot of adjustment each month. But WAIT! The Moon is also affecting each and every other planet in our zodiac by virtue of the fact that it makes an angle to each one of them every single month. Do we WONDER why our emotional bodies are so sensitive? Our fourth house (area of life) relates to:
- The “mother nurturer” in our life.
- Our emotions and how we handle them.
- It is the house of the zodiacal sign of Cancer so it rules the stomach, breasts, nutrition, digestion and uterus.
- In this house is where your feelings will be like a sponge.
- It’s where our personal foundations are formed
- It represents the “home” you establish for yourself and the “home” of your heart.
- It represents (along with the Moon) the “mother” figure in your life
- It can harbor unconscious problems and psychological tensions. We can FEEL a certain way because of the way people have reacted to us.
These are a few of the traits that we consciously or unconsciously experience through the fourth house area of life. You can probably see now and understand that becoming SELF-RELIANT in all areas of our emotional life is the KEY to health in ALL areas of our lives.
Intimately knowing the how the 12 areas of your life… (and the many tentacles that reach out from them) operate daily and how you innately respond to them is KEY! Remember, every sign has a HIGH and LOW side. How that SIGN on the cusp (border) of your fourth house functions is another important KEY to your emotional life.
Our thoughts create our emotions. Our emotions bring forth our feelings and our feelings bring our manifestations into existence. Knowing that is reason enough to fully get a handle on not only your FOURTH HOUSE but the other eleven as well.
May you love the “home” - physical and emotional - in which you dwell and have your being!
