Liberation! Freedom! Individual! The FUTURE! Projected Thoughts! The Active Mind-Lots of Thoughts! Electric! Avant Garde! Radical! Different! Society's Needs! Rebel! Self-Discovery! Innovation! Objectivity! Detachment! Unique! ...and the list goes on! These are Aquarian words.
IF you are an Aquarius, you will probably relate to many, if not most, of these terms. Each one could be expounded upon. However, simply reading the word can trigger an "Aha!" within the Aquarian soul because these are Aquarian qualities.
Each sign is governed by a planet or sometimes two planets as is the case with Aquarius. That's like having two instructors telling you what to do and how to be; two influences, in this case two very different influences pulling at your and stretching you in different directions.
If your Sun is in the sign of Aquarius, or if your Ascendant (the sign in your chart that was on the horizon when you took your first breath) or your Moon is in the sign of Aquarius, you will feel this Aquarian energy much more acutely!
With all those words at the top of this article, what IS Aquarius really like?
Let’s look at the words above. LIBERATION/FREEDOM/RADICAL/DIFFERENT! For starters you may be getting the picture that Aquarians need a lot of freedom….and they DO!
- They need the freedom to discover who they are.
- They need the freedom to express their individuality
- To express their forward thinking ideas
- To express those ideas into actions that affects the future.
- They like to entertain thoughts that are “out of the box.”
- They enjoy and respect uniqueness!
- Those who are artists and writers may create artistic expressions that are “avant garde” yet loaded with symbolism, sometimes symbolism with which very few others can identify. (“out of the box!”)
- They may rebel however quietly or loudly if they are “held hostage” by their perception of the status quo! (Don’t fence me in!!!)
- They may have a cause and boldly and strongly profess that cause to the world to effect change!
- They can seem detached but that doesn’t mean they do not love or feel. They simple NEED SPACE to BE…whoever it is they NEED to be!
- They think in terms of the WHOLE….How can I bring the best of myself to further the best in others? How can I help the masses?
Now you may be thinking, “I know a couple of Aquarians and they’re not like this! In fact, they’re rather conservative.” Ah! Remember when I said that Aquarius was governed or ruled by TWO planets? Well…one of the planets is URANUS – and Uranus is “ALL ABOUT” different! Uranus is “all about OUT THERE!” But the other planet is SATURN! And Saturn CO-RULES Capricorn AND Aquarius, so your Aquarian friend who appear more conservative is being influenced more by SATURN!
We can actually put Aquarius into three categories;
- The ones who cling to the past
- The ones who constantly look to the future
- The ones who go back and forth between yesterday and tomorrow!
Everyone has Aquarius somewhere in their chart. It’s somewhere in one of the 12 houses or areas of life. Only by having your chart interpreted will you know where it is, but guaranteed wherever it is, whichever house it’s in, there will you feel the qualities of this planet.
What are some other interesting Aquarian traits?
- It is the sign of trauma. Trauma is the thing that forces the sign of Aquarius to be unique especially in the emotional body. When the side of you that is stuck and won’t evolve out of your comfort zone, sometimes a trauma comes along to catapult you out of your easy chair and send you flying to your new future. Why does that happen?
- Well, Aquarius is what we call a “fixed sign” (just like Taurus, Leo and Scorpio). “Fixed” can mean stubborn or closed to moving on. Now that sounds like a contradiction to what I said above…but actually the ego is stuck…and the soul wants to move on so…some trauma comes up…large or small and the Aquarian is forced back upon him/herself to INDIVIDUATE. Who am I? Am I being true to myself and what I came here on this planet to DO?
- One has to “DE-condition” from all the old “stuff” in order to move on. Without the trauma, the fixed Aquarian can get pretty comfortable in the status quo (That would be the Saturn side of Aquarius)
- Aquarius can come in and “pop” all kinds or “new ideas” into our mind….Watch for the ones that keep repeating. If they come up a couple of times, well….they could just be daydreams…but if you keep getting the same ideas, popping in randomly over and over and over again through the course of 6+ months….pay attention. Aquarius projects into the future. That’s your Higher Self trying to give you a message! LISTEN! Aquarius can be very receptive to the astral realm.
- Aquarius can project their past into the future because of too much fear. (again….the trauma thing)
- They need to know that it’s OK to be WHO they ARE! Just acknowledge that for an Aquarius can make all the difference in the world. Remember…don’t box an Aquarian in….it won’t work.
- Aquarius is always working with de-condition the past and dealing with the “blue prints” of the future. Only if you work on the former, will you enter the latter.
All of the above is information not ONLY for those who have the Sun in Aquarius, but for all of us in some area of life where Aquarius dwells in our charts. Knowing where YOUR Aquarius is can be one of the most liberating pieces of information that will send you into a more fulfilling future within that area of life.
