In Evolutionary Astrology we have a mantra that says: "I understand the relativity of truth with others."
That's a very profound statement. Truth is RELATIVE! The opposite of Sagittarius is Gemini. Gemini is about how we classify and name things. It's about the "truths" we learned growing up. Refer to last month's article, “Entering Your Third House”, which is completely related to Gemini because Gemini RULES the third house!)
Back to Sagittarius!!! Sagittarius takes the truths that we learned growing up and along the way expands them....(or tries to!) It wants to explore. It wants to create! It wants to travel either to physical locations and/or deep within oneself to learn more and more and more. Sagittarius is very expansive for it is ruled by Jupiter which, by the by is the largest planet in our solar system. Wherever Jupiter is in your chart, you’ll tend to want to “do” that area of life “Texas style.”
Sagittarius is also about our intuitive self. – it’s where you “know what you know but you don’t necessarily know HOW you know!” That’s called your “intuitive sense” which most folks in our culture do not foster.
Sagittarians love “NATURAL LAW”. To give a full definition of natural law would be a full dissertation unto itself. Briefly, natural law is being in communion with all that is natural, to have a connections with nature, with animals, with justice and fairness; to honor the other as you honor yourself. It is being in touch with and aware of Universal Laws and Principles. “Inequities need not apply!!!”
As with all the signs in the zodiac, everyone has Sagittarius somewhere, in some area of life, (house) in their chart. And as I always say, only by having your chart read can you know WHERE it is and how it will play out in your life.
Let’s delve a little more into the intuitive and “higher learning” facets and “truths” of Sagittarius. (Just to be “fair and honest” to and with yourself.)
- Where Sagittarius is in your chart is where your “sixth sense” lies. We block our intuition when we work only with the Gemini side of expecting certain outcomes. Then all we can focus on is what we WANT, which in turn, usually pushes it further away from us. It’s like focusing on “I gotta win, I gotta win” but inside you’re thinking (Gemini left brain) “I hope I don’t lose!” which then causes you to focus more on what you don’t want. Using your sixth sense is allowing the outcome to happen and trusting that you’ll be led every step of the way toward it. This way of being is not fostered in our culture because we are such a “results” oriented culture, but it IS the “way of our intuitive self.”
- We can make up all the laws we want but Natural Law or Universal Laws and principles are always operative whether or not we believe in them. Sagittarians who are tapped in to their intuitive side pay more attention to the results from Universal Laws than from the man-made laws. This doesn’t mean that you fly through red lights just because you trust that no one is coming. NO! It’s more like you stop at the red light knowing that there a purpose and reason why the light was red at that particular time.
- Honesty is THE ONLY WAY! Wherever and whenever we are operating from a place of dishonesty with ourselves or with others, Sagittarius and Jupiter, (Sagittarius’s ruler) will expose the lies, somehow, some way. Wherever “Sag” is in your chart, wherever JUPTER is in your chart, wherever your ninth house is, that’s where you’ll be hungry for deeper truths. If you deny your hunger, suffering by the starvation of denial is not a happy or healthy way to live life.
- Sagittarius leads us to our wider and broader horizons if we but listen. Explore and decide what your truth is and what it is not. If it is your truth, you’ll know. You’ll feel good, you’ll be happy, and you will draw more expansive energies to you. If it is not your honest to goodness truth, you won’t be feeling that great about life in general. In fact, you’ll probably feel pretty uneasy and maybe even down right awful most of the time.
- Sagittarius says: “Are you willing to grow and evolve at the expense of leaving your perception of security? Is what you think of as “security” really security, or is it your excuse to stay anchored to what you know out of fear to be who you are?”
What is your higher truth? Are you willing to seek it out daily….all day, every day? Or are you willing to walk the treadmill of discontent complaining that life is the “same ’ole, same ‘ole?” The choice is yours.
These are BIG questions! But then again…with the biggest planet in our solar system ruling the sign of “Sag”, why would we ever expect anything less?
