In everyone's chart, the eleventh house (area of life) is where we create our future by living in the NOW! Read that sentence a few times and let it sink in; see how it applies to where you are right now and how you’re "right now" will affect your future.
The eleventh house may not seem as "powerful" as some of the other houses however it can pack a punch depending on the planets in that house.
And let us not forget that the eleventh house is governed by the sign Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus....when you see Aquarius or Uranus think: liberation, freedom, unusual, future-oriented, traumatic, friends, goals, organizations, society.
With all those words how can that area of life not be "powerful"? Perhaps we should use the word "influential"! Let's see why!
This area of life, the eleventh house is where you are trying to break free. “From WHAT?” you ask. This is the area of life that deals with other people’s definition of you; society’s definition of you; how you ARE in society; what you do. And other’s definition of you can be “crystallized.” Have you noticed how particular groupings of people with whom you associate expect you to act or be a certain way? That’s an eleventh house matter. The eleventh house is coming from the tenth house where structures have been set up, rules and regulations have a working order, and if one is not careful…a sort of “crystallization” of those structures or concepts can form. When certain structures or concepts become “set in stone”, that’s not always the healthiest way to fly and many times people’s concepts of how we “should” be affect how we are in society.
In the first sentence I mentioned living in the NOW! It’s all we’ve got. Now is all we’ve got! However, when you add up all the “nows” pretty soon you’re in your future! My mother always used to say, “Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!” How we spend our “nows” create our future so how we are, what we think, how we feel, who we hang out with, what we read, what we believe, what we know in the NOW can make or break our tomorrows. Let’s work with some of these words listed above to give definition to the previous sentence.
How are liberation, freedom, unusual, future-oriented, trauma, friends, goals, organizations and society connected?
- LIBERATION: When I say the words Eleventh House, immediately the word that comes to my mind is LIBERATION followed by the question, “Are you liberated enough to be WHO YOU REALLY ARE out in society?” Who creates your freedom for you and from where does that freedom come? You are as free as you make up your MIND to be. And once you make up your mind, that freedom creates a whole new YOU out in the world. Are there old ways of being that don’t work for you any longer? Are there outmoded concepts that you continue to cling to for fear of allowing something new into your life? Are there people in your life who insist that you be THEIR concept of you? These are only three questions that concern your need to liberate from people, places, things and concepts that hold you hostage.
- FREEDOM: Is there some THING or some ONE from whom you need freedom. Are you “free to be YOU” with your friends or out in social settings. Do you honestly think as freely as you would like when you’re with people or are tentative with your self-expressions for fear of being looked upon as weird?
- UNUSUAL: I love that word. It conjures up many images and the “archetype” holds many visuals. The eleventh house, simply because it holds the frequency FOR liberation out in society, will also call the unusual to you. That area of life meets with all manner of cultures and environmental conditioning. It shows us the world, familiar and unfamiliar and asks that we be objective in our assessment of others, full well understanding that we are individuals and have subjective viewpoints.
- FUTURE-ORIENTED: Because the eleventh house looks forward – especially with and eye toward how the masses of people in the world are surviving with a “what’s-good-for-the-WHOLE” attitude, with an attitude for 7-generations down the line, it’s an area of life that keeps our future in front of us – always… we’re always in the now, but tomorrow we’ll be in our future. Future-oriented thinks BACK from the goal.
- TRAUMA: This may seem like an unusual word for ANY area of life, but it’s actually a very appropriate for the eleventh house. Remember when we talked about becoming to “crystallized” in one’s life? We’re always being asked to change. Change can be a very good thing. When the same idea or thought keeps popping up in your mind and you continue to ignore it, many times something “traumatic” happens (to whatever degree on the spectrum of trauma) to jump-start you out of your complacency. No one likes trauma. Pay very close attention to your energy. You can avoid the stress of trauma in your life if you “liberate yourself” to “go with the flow.”
- FRIENDS: Friends in this house aren’t necessarily personal friends. Personal friends tend to be more of a seventh house phenomena, but these are people who help you make connections to things in your life; people in your social circles, your “connectors” who spread the word for you, introduce you to other “new friends” who continue to connect you to still yet another group….see how it works? It’s a far-reaching network of “friends.”
- GOALS: Friends can certainly help with goals however, friends should not make YOUR goals for YOU! That’s your job. You create the goal and then bring it OUT INTO society.
- ORGANIZATIONS: These are places where you socialize with people with whom you don’t necessarily have personal relationships with but associate with for the good of a common endeavor. Collectively, organization can do a LOT of good for society.
- SOCIETY: Being YOU out in SOCIETY is the greatest gift you can give to the world. Daring to discover just WHO YOU ARE is one of the most challenging things any human can encounter. If you’re living your authentic self…..you will have then given your greatest gift to society. To be fully YOU in the most benevolent way for the Highest Good of ALL concerned is all anyone could ever ask of you.
Ultimately, the eleventh house is where you may feel the most DIFFERENT from everyone else, but that’s a good thing. After all, the opposite house of the eleventh is the FIFTH HOUSE and that’s where you’re getting a lot of practice to BE YOU as an individual – just so you CAN contribute your very unique self out in society.
